El color se devora todo a su paso: los miedos, las sensaciones, el tiempo, las formas. Devora, pero también desnuda. En las obras de Daniel Juarez se despliegan superficies geométricas que recuerdan a los artistas modernos del siglo xx, esos hombres dorados que buscaron la pureza de las formas en el mundo y en el plano pictórico. Pero Juarez no es
ningún hombre dorado, es la víctima de una fiebre mental que lo obliga a componer un anti-mundo, un espacio otro donde todo deja de ser algo y las ausencias son la única materia visible. En este anti-mundo del artista, el fragmento aparece como un pilar fundacional para otro tipo de modernidad, una que pone el acento en la humedad de lo profundo. Regidas por sentimientos ambivalentes y un deseo sin nombre, las imágenes que integran Esto es una canción de amor intentan ser portadoras del virus del cariño, más que de la intelectualidad.
Color devours everything in its path: fears, sensations, time, forms. It devours, but it also lays bare. In the works of Daniel Juarez, geometric surfaces unfold that recall the modern artists of the 20th century—those golden men who sought the purity of form in the world and in the pictorial plane. But Juarez is no golden man; he is the victim of a mental fever that compels him to compose an anti-world, an other space where everything ceases to be something and absences are the only visible matter. In this anti-world of the artist, the fragment appears as a foundational pillar for another kind of modernity—one that emphasizes the dampness of the depths. Governed by ambivalent emotions and an unnamed desire, the images that make up This Is a Love Song aim to carry the virus of affection more than that of intellectualism.
