Nina Hamnett encarnó los gloriosos “años locos” y cuando decimos “encarnó” no nos referimos únicamente a un nivel simbólico, sino que los transitó por su cuerpo. Es por ello que en los tiempos actuales en los que el consumo, lo digital y la masificación de imágenes producidas por el marketing y el diseño parecen abarcarlo todo, invocar el espíritu de Nina y sus amigos, que habitaron las calles de Montparnasse de día y de noche, es un llamado a detenernos y a reflexionar sobre nuestras propias existencias.
Les Affaires de Nina, Queen of Bohemia es un relato ficcional de su vida construida a partir de imágenes de artistas contemporáneos internacionales. A través de imágenes anacrónicas, imaginamos la posibilidad de una vida bohemia hoy y tratamos temas como lo femenino, el amor, el sexo, la fiesta, la depresión, la vida artística, las adicciones y la inmigración. Un relato sobre temáticas que se han mantenido como una constante desde los días de Nina.
Nina Hamnett embodied the glorious "crazy years", and by saying, "embodied" we are not referring exclusively to a symbolic level, but literally she lived them through her body. That is why in these current times where consumerism, the digital world and the massification of images produced by marketing and design seem to run over everything, to invoke Nina and her friends' spirit, who lived in Montparnasse day and night, is a call to make a stop and reflect on our lives.
Les Affaires de Nina, Queen of Bohemia is a fictional story on her life, built with images of contemporary and international artists. Through anachronic images, we imagine the possibility of a bohemian life today, and address topics such as the feminine, love, sex, party, depression, artistic life, addictions and immigration. A narrative on issues that have remained present since Nina's times. (1920-1930)
